Who - Coastal Contacts Inc. was Co-Founded in 2000 by Roger Hardy and his sister Michaela Tokarski. In Canada, Coastal Contacts Inc. operates under the brand name Clearly Contacts. Since inception, the company has grown to include 140 employees in its Vancouver Head Office and over 300 employees worldwide.

When - Coastal opened operations in October 2000 after Co-Founder, President, and CEO Roger Hardy, discovered the large mark-ups that optical stores were charging for contact lenses and eyeglasses. He decided there had to be a better way for consumers.
Where - With head offices in Vancouver, British Columbia Coastal Contacts Inc. has increased our global footprint to include offices in Sweden, Singapore, Tokyo and the Netherlands.
Why - Because we are tired of being ripped off! We saw the mark-ups that opticians and optical stores charge and decided to create a more affordable, more efficient way for consumers to purchase vision care. We want to offer consumers a choice.
