Roger V. Hardy, Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Director Roger Hardy is a proven developer of successful businesses and strategies. Roger Hardy's association with Coastal Contacts came in early 2000, as Founder and CEO he focused his time and energy setting the initial vision and direction for the company as it carved out its leadership position in the vision care market. As Founder Hardy led operations, corporate strategy and marketing. Now as CEO Hardy has narrowed his focus to corporate strategy, business development and M&A activity.
Murray McBride, Director Mr. McBride brings an extensive background in both the private and public sectors. In his previous positions he has been the Chairman of the Intellivest Group of Companies, President of the Alexander Proudfoot Company of Canada, Member of Parliament of Canada, Chairman of the Canadian Egg Marketing Agency, Vice Chairman and General Manager of the Farm Credit Corporation of Canada, Chief of Staff of the Canadian Ministry of Consumer and Corporate Affairs and Chief of Staff of the Postmaster General of Canada.
Michaela Tokarski, MBA, Director Ms. Tokarski co-founded Coastal Contacts and was a key member of the management team throughout the first five years of its development. Prior to Coastal Contacts, Michaela distinguished herself in her work in the process engineering departments of Syncrude Oil, Kraft Foods, and Domtar Papers. Michaela holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship. Michaela is the President of her Chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization. (YEO)
Jeffrey Mason, Director Mr. Mason is Chief Financial Officer and Director of Hunter Dickinson Inc. (HDI), a Canadian Corporation, which since 1985 has grown to become among the largest and most successful mine development groups in North America. He is a chartered accountant with audit, control, financial reporting, M&A and financial management experience and sits on the board of several public companies listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. Mr. Mason has also assisted each of the public companies on whose boards he sits with their ongoing disclosure requirements and with implementing suitable internal control procedures. He has been instrumental in over 20 property or project acquisitions and over $350 million in exploration financings. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree (finance and accounting) from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in British Columbia.
John Currie, Director John Currie is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Lululemon Athletica Inc. Prior to joining Lululemon in January 2007, he was Chief Financial Officer of Intrawest Corporation, a world leader in destination resorts and leisure travel. Since joining Intrawest in 1989, Mr. Currie held various positions of increasing responsibility and played a key role in its growth and evolution. Prior to joining Intrawest he held senior financial positions within the BCE group, and was a specialist in international taxation with a major accounting firm. Mr. Currie is a chartered accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
Jeff Booth, Director Jeff Booth is the CEO and co-founder of BuildDirect, the leading online destination for heavy weight building materials. Jeff is a visionary leader who built an impressive team to reduce cost and simplify the building industry. Jeff is also an active member of Young President’s Organization since 2005 and is a frequent speaker to industry groups throughout North America.
Neel Grover, Director Mr. Grover served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Rakuten Buy.com (formerly Buy.com) from May, 2006 until his departure in September, 2012 after having served as President and COO from September, 2003. Mr. Grover remains a Board Director of Rakuten Buy.com and Rakuten U.S.A.. Mr. Grover also has experience with ThinkTank Holdings, a private equity management company, and the law firms of Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP and Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue. Mr. Grover received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of San Diego School of Law and his B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Irvine, and resides in Laguna Beach California.
